Scotland is home to some world class music festivals in the most beautiful of settings!

From dancing in a big blue tent on the Isle of Lewis to having a throwback with your favourite bands from the 80’s, there’s a festival here that you are going to love. Some of these are child friendly too which means you can make it a weekend of fun for the whole family. We’ve rounded up 9 of the best Scottish Music Festivals to visit in 2019.

TRNSMT – 12th to 14th July

Now in its third year, TRNSMT Festival will once again take over Glasgow Green for three days of performances where Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottlemen and George Ezra will headline the main stage. There’s no campsite so treat yourself to a comfy bed in the nearly city centre!

Hebridean Celtic Festival – 17th to 20th July

Held on the Isle of Lewis, HebCelt will see KT Tunstall, The Shires, Newton Faulkner and more light up Stornoway. The festival mixes the best local talent with leading world artists while celebrating the island’s heritage and vibrant Gaelic and traditional music.

Doune The Rabbit Hole – 19th to 21st July

Doune The Rabbit Hole is family friendly festival held at the Cardross Estate in Port of Menteith and features a stellar line up of independent artists alongside international favourites. This year, The Damned, Sister Sledge and The Wailers top the bill and activities including crafts and games will be available for wee ones. Rewind Festival – 19th to 21st July

Rewind Festival will see music legends including Foreigner, Lulu and Bryan Ferry perform in Perth from the 19th to 21st of July at this family friendly festival. Not only does the site have a Family Campsite which is perfect for those attending with little ones, there’s also festival-wide scavenger hunts, arts and crafts and the Youngertones Disco to keep the kids amused.

Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival – 1st to 3rd of August

Held on Belladrum Estate near Inverness, this Highland festival takes place from the 1st-3rd of August. Jess Glynne tops the bill this year along with Elbow and Scotland’s own Chrvches.

Playground Festival – 2nd to 4th of August

Brand new Playground Festival kicks off it’s first year with a top line up including Groove Armada, Lauryn Hill and Hot Chip at Rouken Glen Park in Giffnock. Get your tickets here.

Edinburgh Summer Sessions – 7th to 18th of August

8 of the biggest bands will take to Princes Street Gardens from 7th – 18th August. Florence + the Machine, Primal Scream, Chvrches, Lewis Capaldi, James, Courteeners and Madness will play the capital at this set of not to be missed shows. Get your tickets here.

Party At The Palace – 10th to 11th of August

Glasgow Summer Sessions – 16th to 25th August

Taking place at Glasgow’s Bellahouston park, Glasgow Summer Sessions feature three dates of incredible bands. The Cure kick things off on August 16th followed by Foo Fighters on August 17th and The 1975 on August 25th, each joined by an impressive line up of support acts.
