When we think romance, we can’t help but think oysters and when we think oysters, Rogano is not far behind. Launching in 1935, Rogano is brimming with gorgeous Art Deco design and the Oyster Bar has been an important part of Glasgow’s bar scene since it arrived. Did you know that you could enjoy the romance of a safari trip right here in Scotland? Well, give or take a few lions and tigers. Near Elie in the East Neuk of Fife lies Catchpenny, a collection of eight super luxurious safari lodges that will allow you to enjoy the great outdoors with all of the comforts you could want. Located at the edge of the Firth of Forth, the sound of waves provides the perfect romantic backdrop while a king size bed and wood burning stove offer the perfect spot to cosy up. The lodges sleep up to six people too meaning they are perfect for families if one-on-one time isn’t on the cards.

5. Star Gazing
There is no denying that twinkling star light is seriously romantic and Scotland is home to one of the best places to spot the constellations in the UK. In 2009, Galloway Forest Park was named the first Dark Sky Park in the UK owing to its incredibly low levels of light pollution meaning that the sky is a magical mass of stars – in fact over 7000 stars and planets can be seen with the naked eye. Wrap up warm and head for one of the park’s visitor centres after the sun goes down and try your hand at naming the constellations away from the hustle and bustle.
