Get Interior Envy At This New Look Fife Restaurant

One of St Andrews best-loved restaurants has had a makeover, and we can’t wait to go and see it.

The Adamson, on South Street, has been been transformed into a light, bright and airy space after being closed for a few weeks.

And if you’re a fan of brands such as Cole and Son and Farrow and Ball, then you’re going to get some serious room envy.

The Fife favourite has been given a stylish and contemporary look with bright colours in the restaurant and a new feature entrance wall in the cocktail bar.

The luxury bar and restaurant occupies a historic site in the town – the property was originally home to the Adamson family in the early 1800s where their eldest son, Dr. John, was a physician and pioneer photographer.

The multi-award winning venue have also announced a new look A La Carte, Market and Bar menu showcasing the best of local and seasonal products, together with an exciting cocktail offering.

Managing Director, Julie Lewis said: “We were closed for three weeks and have transformed the space to be less formal with a more relaxed and cool vibe, whilst still retaining its warmth, charm and buzz.

“The Adamson has been open for 8 years and now boasts new lighting, furnishings and decor. The initial reaction from guests have been very positive.”

Design duo Xanthe Weir and Rachel Richmond from Decor Air in Edinburgh were appointed by The Adamson to re-design the spaces.

They said: “Our brief was to make the space less formal with a more relaxed and cool vibe. We wanted to create a lighter atmosphere through colour choice and by adding accent areas and tactile fabrics”.

The new look restaurant also features lights by Arturo Alvarez, a contemporary Spanish designer.

Other additions include covetable chairs in teal, green and grey. On-trend marble tables have also been added throughout the space.

Xanthe added: “The cocktail bar has also been renovated with a wonderful new wallpaper by Cole & Son. The rich colours and geometric angles work well with the wood and new paint colour choice from Farrow & Ball”.

The Adamson Restaurant and Bar is open daily from 12pm on South Street in St Andrews.
