Awards season is upon us again! Last night the 76th Golden Globes Awards took place in Beverly Hills with Hollywood’s top talent being recognised in a glamorous ceremony.

From television dramas to silver screen blockbusters, the awards came thick and fast with lots of No.1 favourites scooping the coveted prizes…

Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series – Drama

As well as co-hosting the event with Andy Samberg, Sandra Oh scooped the award for Best Performance by and Actress in a TV series for her title role in Killing Eve.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama

We were big fans of The Wife here in the No.1 office and we were thrilled when Glenn Close took the award for her performance. Definitely one to get on your 2019 watch list if you haven’t seen it already!

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture

Regina King took the Best Performance award for her role in If Beale Street Could Talk, a movie based on the novel of the same name by James Baldwin. Also nominated in the category were Claire Foy, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz and Amy Adams.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy

Rachel Brosnahan picked up this award for the second year on the trot for her role in Amazon Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs Maisel in which she plays the title character – congratulations Rachel!

Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television

It was an exciting night for Actor Darren Criss as he collected the award for playing the role of Andrew Cunanan in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

Best Original Song – Motion Picture

Lady Gaga lifted the award for A Star is Born smash hit Shallow, along with co-writers Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, and Anthony Rossomando.

British Actress Olivia Colman was crowned the winner for her role as Queen Anne in The Favourite in which she stars alongside Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone.

Michael Douglas was also a Golden Globes 2019 winner for his part in Netflix Original, The Kominsky Method.

Christian Bale added to his many awards with a Golden Globe for his performance as Dick Cheney in blockbuster, Vice.
