You don’t have to fear festivals as an adult – it’s not all camping and portaloos! We’ve rounded up a selection of the best Scottish music festivals for grown ups in 2018.
Solas Festival, The Bield at Blackruthven near Perth

Scotland’s midsummer festival is a weekend long celebration of music and the arts. Head to the site for Arab Strap frontman Aidan Moffat with RM Hubbert, 47SOUL, performance pieces and discussion sessions. Kids under 12 go free.
TRNSMT, Glasgow Green

Now in its second year, TRNSMT takes place on Glasgow Green over 3 weekends bringing a whole host of bands including Queen + Adam Lambert , Stereophonics, Liam Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys and The Killers. There’s no campsite so treat yourself to a nearby hotel.
Hebridean Celtic Festival, Stornoway

This family friendly festival in the Outer Hebrides takes place in a big blue marquee in the grounds of Lews Castle. Headliners this year include Deacon Blue and the Fratellis.
Rewind Festival, Scone Palace, Perthshire

Rewind festival is the perfect throwback to your favourite artists with the likes of OMD, Status Quo, UB40, Bonnie Tyler and Heaven 17 playing this year. If you fancy staying for the weekend but the campsite down’t appeal, Rewind also offers boutique accommodation with premium toilets, showers and pamper facilities.
Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Belladrum Estate near Inverness

Belladrum is a family friendly music and arts festival held near Inverness. Headliners include Paloma Faith, Amy MacDonald and Primal Scream. Plus kids under 12 go free!
Party at the Palace, Linlithgow Palace
