Television presenter and all round style icon Emma Willis gives us her top tips for ultimate summer style and provides a sneak peek at her latest Next edit…
What’s your go-to outfit during summer?
My everyday look during summer in London is jeans because you never know what’s going to happen with the weather. And I’ll wear a vest with a shirt, and then you can derobe, tie it around your waist, or do it up to the neck if it starts raining!
When I go to a summer event, I much prefer to be in a dress. I know I wear a lot of tailoring, suits and trousers, but when it’s summer, even if it’s hot or not, it feels like it’s suddenly okay to get your legs out and you’re not going to freeze. I’m not really a cardi girl, so my cover up would be a blazer, which I wear a lot. Or a leather jacket, which I also wear a lot.
What spring/summer trends will you be wearing?
I love a lot of pastel colours that are around at the moment.
If you were getting ready in a hurry what would you opt for?
I would probably just wear all black if I had 10 minutes to get ready. Black top, black trousers, black heels and a bag.
Bikini or swimsuit?
I am 100 percent a bikini gal. But there’s some really nice swimsuits around at the minute, so if I’m going swimming with my kids at home I always wear a swimsuit, but if I’m on holiday – always a bikini.
What are your packing essentials?
Bikini, beach shirt, denim shorts, sandals, sun dress, sunglasses, a hat, a jumpsuit, espadrilles and a good sunscreen!
Do you have a favourite summer staple?
Espadrilles – you never know if it will rain or be warm. Espadrilles cover both. I also love a shirt dress.
Fringing is a big trend this season – what are your thoughts on it?
I’m always up for trying new trends and luckily have a great stylist who knows what suits me best! Fringing has an element of fun and it’s great to embrace fun light hearted trends in the summer.
