He might be a father of five and therefore experienced when it comes to parenthood, but it seems Jamie Oliver can still be told off by his own mum.
The celebrity chef posted a picture of his youngest son (7-month old River Rocket), lying grinning on a tiled floor. He captioned the image:
“Morning little boy… always good to get a nice smile”
The picture racked up thousands of likes and plenty of comments, but his mum was not entirely impressed. She commented:
“This adorable child! He looks so like you as a baby! But please get him off that hard floor now.”
Fans were quick to agree with his mother, Sally Oliver, with one commenting, ‘Couldn’t agree more with Sally Oliver.’ Another wrote, ‘So glad you said that!!! Poor little mite!!! Come on Jamie!!! Pick him up.’
When someone stepped into defend Jamie, Sally was quick to shoot down any controversy, writing:
“You’re quite right, the floor is very clean and River is very well cared for, I was only teasing Jamie.”
Parenting expert Sue Atkins also gave her opinion on the image, saying:
“You could get a concussion if a baby is only seven months old and he cracks his head on the back of a big surface like that. You can get a huge fright, you can get a trauma. I don’t want to be scaremongering about that but it could be quite a serious injury you could get from cracking our head on a hard surface.”
Jamie has yet to respond to the comments.
