Take That’s “The Band” musical coming to Scotland

It has been confirmed that Take That’s new musical, The Band will open in Scotland in summer 2018.

The Band will play at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow from June 26th until July 7th and The Edinburgh Playhouse from July 10th– July 14th 2018.

The Band features Five to Five, starring AJ Bentley, Nick Carsberg, Yazdan Qafouri Isfahani, Curtis T Johns and Sario Watanabe-Soloman, the winners of BBC show fronted by Gary Barlow, “Let It Shine.” The show is being produced by Take That members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen, and Robbie Williams, as well as West-End producers David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers.

The show is about five 16-year-old friends in 1992 who are fans of the band. The show then follows them 25 years later when they are women wanting to fulfil their lifelong dream of meeting their favourite band.

The tour will travel across the UK in places such as Manchester, Sheffield, Bradford, Southampton, Cardiff and Liverpool.

The dates were confirmed for the show on stage at the Manchester Apollo where Take That first performed together in 1992. They revealed: “We are incredibly proud and excited that our first production as theatre producers is The Band – a musical that we think will touch the hearts of not just our fans, but everyone.”

The Band has been written by Tim Firth who worked with Gary Barlow on The Girls, the popular musical take on Calendar Girls.
