Are you having a hard time at work? Do you dread the thought of getting up every day and thinking about going to work? Are you thinking about quitting your job, but not sure if you should? If your answer to the majority of these questions is yes, then it might be time to consider whether you a need a new job and it is time to move on to something new. Life is too short to be stuck in a job that you hate
1. Bad Management:
If your boss is treating you unfairly – you must do something about it. You must speak to them directly, and if not, speak to HR. If a solution does not occur, then it is best time to start looking elsewhere and find somewhere where the manager respects you
2. You receive no recognition for your work and you are not valued:
If you feel you are not appreciated for the work you have done, whether it is from not being paid enough, the little praise that you receive or the lack of responsibility that you have, and this has been going on a while, it is probably time to leave your job and find someone who values your work. Lack of recognition can lead to decrease in confidence and unhappiness when this could be easily avoided by moving jobs and finding a new role where your work is appreciated.
3. You are underpaid
Your boss should never expect you to do your job for free or pay you less than you deserve. Think about how much experience you have, what qualifications you have, and the responsibilities you are being given, to see if you are due a raise. If you realise you are due more – ask for a raise or apply for a senior role – if this is not given, then it is better to leave and find a new job elsewhere where you are treated fairly.
4. You have lost all enthusiasm
This is a huge reason to leave your job. Are you feeling as though you have no motivation to go to work? Does the thought of work not excite you at all? If the answer to these questions is yes, then you have every right to leave and find something that suits you and interests you. There is no point in working somewhere that makes you depressed when you could easily find a new job that excites you.
5.You have no time for yourself
If you are working so much that you do not feel you have enough time for yourself anymore, then you need to find a job that allows you to make time for yourself. No matter what your job is, you should always make sure you have some “me time.” If you find that your personal life no longer exists, and that all your time with friends is spent complaining about work, then it is definitely time for a career change.
