The celebrity rumour mill has gone overdrive after songstress Mariah Carey was spotted out, and lounging about, with an enormous diamond strapped to her ring finger.

The musical diva has been dating boyfriend, American Rapper and Actor Nick Cannon, for a matter of weeks but it is reported that he has been overhead taking about the forthcoming ceremony to a friend.

Whilst the engagement comes as more than a little surprise it’s the ring that is courting the most controversy as it appears to be identical to the one that Nick gave to his previous fiancé, model Selita.

We can’t imagine the notoriously spoiled MC standing for second hand – so the bets are on as to whether the couple will actually make it up the aisle!
