No7 Extreme Lash Mascara

No.1 Beauty Writer, Emma Hayley Dixon, tries out lip balm.

Most ladies know that one of the most important inclusions in any handbag is a good mascara - especially over the party season. No7 have brought out a new product called Extreme Lash which has an exclusive flexible brush which is designed to "extend each lash for maximum length and eye-opening definition".

The brush may take some getting used to, especially if like me you have grown accustomed to the big fat brushes that let you heap mascara onto your lashes.

However, after a couple of coats this works wonders, your lashes are long and densely covered in mascara but aren't clumpy. I'd say it's more of a daytime mascara than one you would use for a big night out though.

Costs £12 www.boots.com

Mascara had good consistency and did make lashes look fuller and longer. Unlike so many other mascaras on the market, it didn't leave black marks under my eyes and lasted pretty much all day. The brush could have been a little bit fuller but it didn't clump the lashes together and separated each one.

I don't think I will switch to this one from my regular mascara but I wouldn't be against using it again.

Due to having sensitive eyes and wearing contact lenses for the past 20 years, I had stopped wearing mascara. But now that I have stopped wearing lenses I can give it a go again and had no problems with this one whatsoever.

It didn't flake, which can often be a problem, and was easy to apply. It wasn't too over-the-top – a good thing since I am after a more natural look. I would definitely buy this one again.

I have long eyelashes and while this is a blessing, they clump really easily when I wear mascara. This means it's really hard to find a brush that separates my eyelashes without them getting tangled and stuck together. Usually I have to comb my lashes through no matter what mascara I use.

However the comb on this meant that my lashes looked long but neat. That's really hard to come by so I'd buy this again!

I thought this was quite a nice mascara but when I found at the price I thought it was a bit expensive for the results it delivers.

I felt like I couldn't get enough mascara onto the brush and therefore on to my eyelashes. It did define my lashes though.

I'd possibly use this to wear to work but then £12 is a bit much just for a work mascara.
