Cheryl sings, John leaves

Last night Cheryl sang on TV for the first time since the awful malaria incident. Although she did a great job at convincing everyone she was singing live, it soon transpired that not only did she mime various parts of the single 'Promise This' but the whole performance was actually pre-recorded an hour before the show began.

Either way the performance was good and it was a great warm up for the live audience - they loved every minute.

But then the show took a shocking twist when it was time to announce who had made it through and who would be in the sing off.

Most people were shocked to see that Wagner had made it through not to mention girl band Belle Amie. Then to find out John Adeleye and Treyc - two very talented singers were facing being kicked off the show was quite a turn up for the books.

In the end John was the one to leave - but what do you think of him leaving and other more unpopular or arguably less talented contestants remaining? And what did you think of Cheryl's performance?

I think perhaps Cheryl has gone back to work too soon. Malaria is a very serious condition that needs time to recover from.

if you cant sing then dont it's pretty simple. she is a mentor to her group. what example is she setting to them. i'd have lost all respect for her if it was me in her group. i have watched xfactor for the last 3 years and the amount of miming going on with the so called professional/famous singers is rediculous!! i have more respect for wagner (who is rediculously rubbish!!!) for attempting to sing than for cheryl cole who mimed! at least he tried! (unfortunately :o)

Cheryl didn't get to where she is today because of her singing ability so why is everyone surprised????

Why would she not do it live like the contestants have to.......if the excuse is because she was dancing then why is she a singer???? Be a dancer then.........I take it she will never tour then as both skills would be required????

I think Cheryl wouldn;t hae been able to do perform the dance routine and sing well, especially after her illness so miming was the best way forward for her. I don't think it should be accepted as the norm though when contestants are udged on their voices and performance ability. Wagner should have gone but TBH John is dull and not the best singer amongst the contestants so he would have gone anyway at some point sooner, rather than later.

I absolutely loved Cheryls performance. She put on a show and a great performance with energetic dance routines. So what if it was part recorded, she still sang some of it live and that stuff was good. Alot of the big artists do it also so why does she get grief over it. If people want a perfectly sung song then buy the CD, if they want a 'performance' then watch her on stage and forget whether it's sang totaly live, pre-recorded or both, just enjoy.

Loved the song. As for miming. What about the beginning of the prog when all the contestants appeared to be miming too?

it sooooo obvious the judges are trying to influence the vote and I wouldn't be surprised if it's a fix
