A night of winners and losers

Last night's National Television Awards saw the cream of the crop of TV stars don their gladrags and hit the red carpet. It also saw Ant and Dec win Most Popular TV Presenters for the 10th year in a row - quite an achievement!

Cheryl Cole made her first public appearance in a while wearing a backless dress that showed off her new body 'art' on her lower back which has been mocked mercilessly since. However the night took an upswing for Chez when The X Factor won Most Popular Talent Show. But the joy of that win probably didn't last long if she was notified this morning that her latest album is up for the 'Worst Album of the Year' award at the upcoming NME awards! The news will no doubt be the last thing she wants to hear since it's looking very unlikely that she will get that spot on the American X Factor after all! It seems producers don't think she's well-known enough and have told Simon he can only have one other Brit on the show and that is likely to be Dermot!

But back to last night's awards, the other big winners were:

Best Serial Drama - EastEnders

Most Popular Comedy Programme - Benidorm

Most Popular Entertainment Programme - I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here

Most Popular Newcomer - Ricky Norwood, EastEnders

Most Popular Drama - Waterloo Road

Digital Choice - The Inbetweeners

Most Outstanding Serial Drama Performance - Lacey Turner, EastEnders

Most Popular Entertainment Presenter - Ant & Dec

Topical Magazine - This Morning

Most Popular Factual Programme - Top Gear Most Popular Talent Show - The X Factor

Most Outstanding Drama Performance - David Jason

Special Recognition - Bruce Forsyth

What do you make of the winners? And what about EastEnders beating out Coronation Street...?

Really glad This Morning won as can see Gino cook naked now!! Upset that as usual Eastenders swept the board. It's all doom and gloom with no humour in it. Coronation Street thoroughly deserved to win, especially after the live episode in December for their 50th anniversary. They were robbed!!
