Tragic Development

Jade Goody had kept her spirits up during her battle with cancer admirably but doctors have just dealt her a devastating blow.

The 27-year-old had been given a 40 per cent chance of survival but recent tests have now shown that her cervical cancer has spread to her liver, bowel and groin.

Jade is obviously heartbroken over the latest news and told a newspaper, "I am devastated. I am angry. I don't want to die because I have so much to live for. The reality is I have gone from a 40 per cent chance of a cure to seeing how long I can stay alive."

She continued, "The whole thing is absolutely terrifying. To try and remain positive I am hoping a new type of treatment will suppress and control the cancer, which is very aggressive. I am in a nightmare."

Jade, who has two sons - Bobby aged five and Freddie aged four, was taken into hospital last Friday after complaining of extreme pain. It is then that the tests were carried out and it was discovered that the disease had spread extensively.

Truly terrible news.

Jade must be living a nightmare since finding this out. Reading a story like this often makes us realise that our problems seem so trivial. I'm defo going to give myself a kick up the backside and get on with life...this proves it really is too short. Take care Jade, my thoughts are with you and your family. J

How awful - definitely puts day to day moans into perspective. Poor Jade, and poor wee boys. I hope she's left in peace to make the most of what time she has left.

Shy Wallflower you got it in one!! I got a letter before Christmas to go for my smear, but was too busy!! Just filed it.... To busy to go for something that could save my life!! Will be making my appointment first thing Monday. My daughter is so important to me, just like Jade's sons are to her and the thought of me not seeing her grow up is unbearable. and yes Jade you are in my prayers xxx (thinking about that poor nurse who offered to pray with a patient and had to go through a hearing......)

I think this has been a wake up call to all women. You never know..do you!! I was absolutely devastated when I heard the news about Jade..although I am no fan of hers. A young girl of 27 with two young kids to look after, has everything to live for. My thoughts and prayers are with you. We will all pray for a miracle to happen for you.
