Colin scoops the big award
There has been a lot of buzz around the movie The Kings Speech and with good reason too - it has wowed critics and audiences alike. And last night the British star of the film, Colin Firth was recognised by the industry and presented with the Best Actor award at the Golden Globes.
It just shows how far Colin has come from his Mr Dacry days - he's now the toast of Hollywood!
The other big winner of the night was Natalie Portman who took home the Best Actress award for her portrayal of a ballerina in Black Swan. The pink satin gown that Natalie wore showed her fledgling baby bump.
In her acceptance speech Natalie thanked her parents for their support as well as her new fiance whom she met whilst working on the film. Ballet dancer Benjamin Millepied was the choreographer for the movie and he and Natalie announced their engagement and her pregnancy a couple of weeks ago.
Other big winners on the night were:
Best Screenplay: The Social Network
TV series, musical or comedy: Glee
Best Supporting Actress: Melissa Leo, 'The Fighter'
Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale, 'The Fighter' |
