Simon's furious at Dermot

Simon Cowell is under pressure as the rigging fiasco still rages on around The X Factor, and now he worries that fans have lost trust in the whole show and the voting system.

Simon's said to be even more perturbed at the fact Dermot revealed that Cheryl refusing to vote and it then going to a majority vote was actually rehearsed during the ad break.

Roughly 1,200 people have complained to ITV about Cheryl not voting and the fact that paying for a phone vote is becoming more and more redundant.

So now sources say Simon is thinking about introducing a guest judge as early as this weekend so that with five judges, if one decides not to vote, there will be four judges left who can then split evenly and send the vote to a deadlock.

So far it looks like both Nicole Scherzinger and Gary Barlow are in the frame.

With the whole Gamu debacle, and the hoo-ha over auto-tuning and now this latest controversy - do you feel able to still take The X Factor seriously?

I have said for years that the whole thing was a 'FRAUD'. It's about time people stopped phoning in altogether and then see what they do. You are not telling me people are actually phoning in, in there thousands it would need to be, to keep Wagner (VAGNER)in - NO!!! I don't think so.

I thought the vote was unfair, all of the judges should have voted and if it was deadlock it should have went to the public vote. My family of 4 adults have decided that not only will we not vote again but also we will not be watching the X Factor again. In all honesty we will miss the Saturday night excitement but we cannot support this unfairness.

How wagner is still there beggars belief - people must be voting for his scantily clad dancers certainly not for his singing

I stopped voting a few years back. The judges have the final say up until the last week or so. The performances are way over the top now, with too many dancers and gimmicks. I loved x factor but now I'm realising it is just a big et rich(er) scheme for Simon and his cronies....... Roll on I'm a Celebrity!

Most of the population of the UK think this years show is a shambles. It appears just to be a money making racket now filling the coffers with money from downloads and voting. Where will most of the artists be in a few years time? We will have forgotten most of them. Bring back real music from real artists that can actually sing without voice enhancement.

I have 5 members in my family that always ring in and vote (it cost a fortune) but we are thinking "forget it as it will not matter"

Who goes out, should be based on the public vote alone. That would save this sort of situation arising in the first place.

i watch the programme every week but sunday night was a total farce. What is the point of the public paying to vote when the judges do what they please. TrayC was by far the better singer and deserved to be put through. It is no longer about the talent of the singers but who brings in the most ratings for the show.Simon was wrong when he said he put Katie through because that is who the public wanted to see most. The public want her out so if she is in the bottom 2 next week then its time to go.

Why do they have to have a judges vote anyway? It's always been a bit of a farce with the 'mentor' always sticking with their own acts - despite how rubbish they are or how good the other person was. If this is supposed to be decided by the public, I think they should always go with the public vote. If they want to raise more revenue, they could announce the bottom 3 and allow the phone lines to re-open so that people can still save their favourite if they're at risk. It'll put paid to some of the successful acts going out because people think they'll have enough support anyway and give the control back to the public! I also think they should stop the miming and instead of 'tarting it up' strip the performances back to what it should be - a singing competition! By allowing the more successful acts to mime, they are being hypocrites by giving them standing ovations and then critisizing the 'novices' for not singing in tune. But then, is that it? the 'professionals' don't want us to hear how bad they really are??
