Shania in shock proposal

Shania Twain is said to be overjoyed after getting engaged this week, but the happy occasion does not come without a smattering of controversy, especially given the messy break-up of Shania's marriage to her previous husband.

A couple of years ago it came out that Shania's music producer husband, to whom she had been married for 14 years, had been allegedly cheating on her with close friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud. Shania was left devastated and filed for divorce from Robert.

Marie-Anne was also married at the time, to Frederic Thiebaud - and this is where things get interesting - Shania and Frederic are now engaged!

Sources say that Shania and Frederic grew close as both were distraught after finding out their partners were cheating with each other. Especially when Marie-Anne moved in with Robert shortly after Shania moved out. But then love between Shania and Frederic blossomed!

We're glad Shania has found some happiness again.
