Sean and Robin split for second time

Sean Penn has ended his marriage to actress Robin Wright Penn for the second time in 16 months this week. And now the battle over their joint fortune is gearing up.

The pair have bee married for 13 years - and split over a year ago. However they reconciled and for a few months things looked somewhat rosy.

However stories soon emerged of Sean hanging out regularly with Lindsay Lohan and starting to slink back into his old partying ways.

Then when he won an Oscar in February he managed to thank everyone but his wife who was sitting watching him adoringly in the audience.

Sean, who's first marriage was to Madonna in the 80s, has not released a statement about his petition for a separation but the reason has been cited as 'irreconcilable differences' and he has asked the court to waive spousal support - which mean, if his plea is granted, he will not have to pay Robin a monthly sum.
