Tragedy hits the Redgrave family

We were shocked when we heard that actress Natasha Richardson was critically ill following a fall during a skiing trip, but we had no idea just how serious her condition was.

Natasha had been flown to a New York hospital where she lived with her husband and fellow actor Liam Neeson and their two sons.

Reports from the Skiing resorts where Natasha fell are that the actress was on a beginner's slope and the fall was not very bad at all. In fact she's said to have got straight up and was laughing and joking - she even signed a form saying she didn't need any medical attention.

But it's understood that shortly afterwards, once she had returned to her hotel, she starting having severe headaches - she was taken to hospital straight away.

It was confirmed this morning that Natasha has sadly passed away from her injuries.
