Harry Potter held back!
The release of the much anticipated sixth Harry Potter film is being postponed according to reported. The Half-Blood Prince was due for release in November but is now not thought to be hitting screens until July of 2009. In a statement, Warner Bros. president Alan Horn, blamed the writer's strike for the delay. He said, "Like every other studio we are still feeling the repercussions of the writer's strike, which impacted the readiness of scripts for other films, changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of. We agreed the best strategy was to move The Half-Blood Prince to July, where it perfectly fills the gap for a major tent pole release for mid-summer." So it would seem that the studio was trying to cash in as much as possible and rob us all of a great Christmas block buster. Well Ba Humbug to them all! |
