Peter Andre breaks down on TVThe morning when the news broke of Katie's marriage to Alex Reid, Peter managed to shrug it off in a radio interview saying that all he cared about was the kiddies.
But by that evening, Pete still on the promotion trail for his new album of love songs, had a TV interview lined up.
When pushed about what kind of role he thought Alex would play in his kids lives now that he has married their mother, Pete started to crack.
He asked to cut the interview short as he fought back the tears saying, "Nobody is going to take my kids away from me."
The Sky News interview started well but it was when the presenter played a clip he had never seen of Dwight Yorke, Harvey's biological father, talking about Pete's request to adopt Harvey, that things turned sour.
Dwight said that the request to adopt was 'disrespectful'.
Dwight has famously had very little to do with Harvey, and so Pete was angered by the comment saying, "I asked to adopt him because I love him, not to be disrespectful. That angers me a little bit."
The presenter then cruelly asked how Pete would feel were the tables turned and Alex tried to adopt Princess, Junior and Harvey now that he's married Katie.
This is were Pete became visibly upset saying, "No one is going to take my kids away from me. And I will fight to the death for that."
After a moment Pete then said of the interview, "I'd rather just stop this if that's alright."
Poor Peter, he perhaps hadn't had enough time to let the marriage sink in and before he knew it he was facing a barrage of questions on live TV. |
