GMTV ousts Penny after 17yrs!

Well the cuts at TV stations are not slowing down anytime soon, with all the furore at the BBC and the talk of massive pay cuts, GMTV have been busy trying to find their own way to cut costs.

Now it's been announced that the latest casualty at ITV is Penny Smith, who has been with the station 17 years!

With Penny being 51 (the oldest lady on GMTV currently), you can bet there are going to be some question over ageism again, similar to the scandal caused when Arlene Phillips was kicked off Strictly Come Dancing and replaced by the much younger Alesha Dixon.

Now people wonder if Fern Britton did the right thing by leaving before she was inevitably pushed by the cash strapped station.
