Can there really be a curse??

So we've heard this spoken about before - the curse that befalls female Oscar winners, but this year there seems to be more weight to the claims.

Let's start with Kate Winslet and her recently announced split.

Kate won an Oscar last year, incidentally for her performance in a film directed by her husband, but has just confirmed that she is now separated.

When Julia Roberts won an Oscar she attended the ceremony with the long-term boyfriend Benjamin Bratt - they split shortly after.

Reese Witherspoon won then split, Angelina Jolie won then split, Halle Berry won then split - so it's easy to see how the idea of a curse was born!

The latest name to be added to this long list is none other than the lovely Sandra Bullock.

Sandy won an Oscar a few weeks ago and was happily married to a man named Jesse James.

However now a scandal has erupted Stateside that Jesse has had an affair.

Heartbroken Sandra has cancelled the British premiere of her new movie The Blind Side after it was revealed that Jesse has apparently been seeing the tattoo-covered model for 11 months!

So is it that these women reach the pinnacle of their career by winning an Oscar and the men in their lives just can't handle their success? Or - when you take into account all of the recent cheating celeb stories and how different each case has been - is it just impossible to trust a celebrity male these days?
