Matt proves what a nice guy he is
Matt Cardle has been doing the interview rounds as The X Factor winner and we have found out all kinds about him that we didn't know, such as his past run ins with the law and his ill-health as a baby.
Matt has credited the show with saving him. He said that until he got onto The X Factor he had been wasting his life by doing drugs and drinking too much with his friends and even spoke about two arrests that he has had in the past, once for being drunk and disorderly and another time when class A drugs were found in his car.
But that is all behind him now and the future looks bright. It's been estimated that Matt is due to make £5 million over the next 18 months but he's determined the money is not going to change him.
He's so determined to stay the same nice guy that he is going ahead with plans to sing at his friend's wedding this weekend that he made months ago.
He also plans to pay off his parents' mortgage and to donate money to the children's cancer charity CLIC. The charity is very close to his heart because they helped him when he suffered from kidney cancer as a baby.
Aww good to know Matt's not going to let it all go to his head - we could use more nice guys in showbiz.
But there's one person who doesn't think he's such a nice guy - and that is his ex-girlfriend. She's saying in another magazine this week that she supported him tirelessly by working 70-hour weeks in a pub and letting him stay in her father's house rent-free whilst he was trying to find his big break, but then he dumped her as soon as he got any success. So far Matt has declined to comment on the stories his ex has been selling. |
