Gaga lies about Madonna?

There's been SO much hype in the lead up to Lady Gaga releasing her new single 'Born This Way'. There had been teaser lyrics leaked and a lot of online buzz and then Gaga only added to the hysteria by turning up at the Grammy's in a giant egg.

Gaga had explained that the reason for the egg was so that she could feel the authenticity of being 'born' on stage to sing 'Born this way'. Okay that's all well and good we all know she's a little eccentric so her explanation didn't come as much of surprise. However, perhaps she should have stopped talking right there instead of going on to say that she had spent 70 hours in the run up to the Grammy's inside the egg so that she could really get into a creative head space. But according to sources, the egg only contained enough air for 30 minutes so that wouldn't actually have been possible.

Hmm...

But then it gets a bit worse for Gaga and the fibbing accusations because of the queen of pop Madonna.

Many people have noticed the uncanny similarities between 'Born This Way' and Madonna's classic song 'Express Yourself'.

Gaga addressed the similarities in a recent interview saying, "There is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan, personally and professionally. And… Well, the good news is, I got an e-mail from her people and her sending me their love and complete support on behalf of the single. And if the queen says it shall be, then it shall be."

Except, shortly after Gaga said that, Madonna's reps contacted CNN to deny that Madonna had gotten in touch to convey her support.

Oops, that's a bit embarrassing.
