War of the pop tarts starts?

Katy Perry has never been afraid to speak her mind, it's one of the reasons we like her, but then the same can be said of Lady Gaga.

Up until now it seemed they both had a healthy respect for each other's work, but now Katy has hit out at Gaga's new video.

The just released video for single 'Alejandro' is typical Lady Gaga craziness. It goes on for over eight minutes and shows Gaga cavorting with dancers in her undies, swallowing a Rosary and with a cross printed on her crotch area.

Well Katy Perry was not amused. Katy's parents are very religious and she has a tattoo saying 'Jesus' on her inner wrist.

Katy took to Twitter after seeing the video writing, "Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke."

So far Lady Gaga has not yet responded.
