Katy and Russell engaged!

And they thought it wouldn't last...! Well we guess that still remains to be seen, but over the festive period Russell and Katy got engaged!

The lovebirds have been enjoying a romantic break in India, when Russell is said to have popped the question on New Year's Eve.

Russell bought Katy a traditional Indian dress to wear and then took her in a horse and carriage to dinner in a garden covered with flowers and candles. As if that wasn't totally romantic enough, the couple were treated to fireworks and an elephant ride - all of which Russell had planned out after Katy told him she liked Indian culture.

Russell then got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife!

After Katy said yes, the pair were blessed by a 'love guru'.

Thirty-four-year-old Brand is said to have proposed with a square-cut diamond ring from Cartier - oooh lucky girl!

Katy and Russell have only been dating five months but from minute one the twosome have been smitten with each other. Renowned lothario Brand declared he was in love after just a few weeks. And sources close to pop starlet Katy say she's over heels and that, "he makes her laugh like nobody else in the world."

Aww that's what we need at this time of year, a love story to warm the cockles!
