Katie calls Alex a sponger?

A Sunday newspaper has reported that Katie Price has been telling friends where the problems with her and Alex began. She's reported to have grown disillusioned by Alex and his motives for marrying her when he started showing so much interest in his own media career.

She apparently told friends, "I thought Alex was an easy-going athlete who had no interest in showbiz, fame or wanting a TV career like Pete. He was just the opposite of all that, just an ordinary bloke. I loved the fact he wasn't in my world. But as soon as he got to my world, he wanted to be in it himself."

With reports that a divorce announcement is imminent, it seems Katie is keen to make it known what she thinks caused the initial cracks in their relationship.

Katie is also reported to have told friends, "He wanted to become a TV personality like me, a magazine columnist like me and advertise clothes like me. I hated that. I look back and regret that marriage with all my heart. I convinced myself I was in love but looking back I probably wasn't."

I think we all had our suspicions that the quickie marriage was likely to turn out to be nothing but a rebound.

Katie's spokesperson has confirmed that the couple are apart saying, "Katie has asked Alex to leave the family home so they both have some space and hopes he respects that."

Alex is said to be heartbroken about the demise of the marriage.
