2nd anniversary alone

It has been one of the most famous whirlwind romance/baby/marriage stories of recent times but Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are dong nothing to quiet the critics who suspect ther marriage is a sham.

Whilst Katie has been performing in a Broadway show it New York, she is living alone in the city other than when she has Suri staying with her. Which is perfectly understandable given that her and Tom's home is in LA and he surely has to be there to work? However, it's rumoured that Tom is also staying in New York, just not in the same apartment as his wife.

Again, 'sources' close to the couple give a very convincing explanation for this, saying that Katie was determined to prove she could act when she took the role in the theatre show and therefore needed lots of time alone to focus and rehearse. So she thought it better to have a separate apartment.

But how on earth are these sources going to explain how Katie has gone from the grinning naive actress to the gaunt scowling lady we see these days. And why was she seemingly all by herself and miserable on the second anniversary of her marriage to Tom?
