Katie and Pete: War of words
We didn't see this coming (yeah right), who'd have thought we would witness yet ANOTHER war of words between ex-spouses Katie Price and Peter Andre. This time it's about their daughter Princess.
No it's not about her being pictured with straight her, Pete's already had a rant about that in his magazine column (though strangely he's never moaned about Junior and his frequent blonde highlights).
No this time it's about a burn the three-year-old procured whilst on a skiing holiday with her mum and granny.
Katie's side of the story is: "Princess has in fact got a minor burn under her armpit that she received in a fluke accident when she was in Klosters.
At that time she was with my mother and my sister and had (unbeknown to my sister) followed my sister to retrieve pajamas's left to warm. That injury was seen to immediately and while it is of course upsetting that it happened at all, it was an accident of the type that happen to children all the time. Princess is fine, there will be no lasting damage and she was and is in no discomfort. The advice we received was to let the burn breathe rather than dressing it."
Katie also insinuated that Pete knew about the injury but was making a fuss about his concern for it because it would gain him more publicity.
Pete's side of the story is that Princess turned up to his house for a visit and had a burn that he had not been told about. He says: "I tried to contact Kate urgently to find out what had happened, but she didn’t respond at all. I took Princess to our Doctors immediately, and the doctor treated the injury and dressed it there and then. Because I still hadn’t heard from Kate, I asked my lawyers to write to hers – to find out what had happened and why I had not been informed. I will not be accused of using an accident to gain publicity by Kate. That is completely untrue."
Katie says that she was only responding to comments Pete had made in a Sunday newspaper rather than discussing the matter privately. She says, "At a time when I am trying to persuade my ex-husband to remove the children from the public eye to have this incident appear in the press and garner a little publicity is quite shameful. I am just so sad, and so sorry, to have to respond publicly to the article and my ex-husband's statement. I will take whatever insults my ex-husband wishes to heap on me but I will not accept him portraying me as a bad mother."
What do you make of all this? Do you think Katie has a point and whether he's complaining about how Princess wears her hair or an injury any of his children have sustained he should do so privately and keep it out of the press? Or do you think Pete is within his rights to publicly talk about his children whenever he wants?
