Kate's dress was a copycat?

So the debate over Kate Middleton's dress is still raging on some three weeks after she wed Prince William with 2 billion people watching. This time the problem is a copycat issue.

Pretty much everyone agrees that Kate looked absolutely stunning on her big day, the dress was breathtaking. And whilst most people likened the style and silhouette to another 'commoner' who married into royalty - Grace Kelly - there's someone else who appears to have worn a very similar dress just two years ago.

In fact the dress was designed by the same designer – Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.

The wedding gown, worn by actress Isabella Orsini (pictured left), the goddaughter of the controversial Italian Prime Minister minister Silvio Berlusconi, does have a lot of similarities.

For example the lace detailing and the plunging neckline as well as the nipped in waist and fanned out train.

Another similarity is that 'commoner' Isabella wore the dress whilst marrying a Prince!

What do you think, has Kate been shafted with a copycat dress?

Kate Middleton looked beautiful, elegant and classy on her big day. Theres always someone got to find something to go on about. I'm not that fussed as long as she felt and looked a million dollars on her day, I am sure she did.

Who cares? Kate looked absolutely beautiful and every girl feels like a Princess on their big day. There are far more important things going on in the news than a bunch of idiots worrying about a dress. Fashion by its very nature is a repetitive thing so why should wedding dresses be any different?

Kate Middleton's dress was stunning as well as unique. The fact thatSarah Burton designed the dress and kept it a secret, the Royal school of needle work were involved in the lace making, the detailed flower embrodiery on the dress and train this is one dress of the kind! People should just stop being unkind and shallow... Jealousy will get you nowhere! April 29th was a beautiful day that touched the nation. It wasn't just about the dress, it was about a romantic and happy couple who under took vows sharing their Wedding day with millions!

I would say there is no total comparison - an idea as already quoted about others. Kate Middleton looked every inch a real princess and I believe there must have been major differences which cannot be seen in only half a photograph of any individual wearing a lace top. The bottom of the bridal gown was very distinctive in the gown worn by the wife to be of a future King.
