Are they really gonna win it?!

What a shocker on The X Factor last night! After weeks and weeks of lamenting the performances of twins John and Edward, Simon Cowell somewhat changed his tune last night.

When Lucie Jones and Jedward ended up in the bottom two, many though Simon had finally been given the opportunity he had been waiting for... to get rid of the "vile" twins.

But when he decided to go to Deadlock, and it was revealed that the twins had received more votes than Lucie, he missed his chance to be rid of them.

Or did he?

It seems that Mr Cowell has softened his attitude towards the boys, and that could have something to do with the pound signs that are always in his eyes.

Whilst having Jedward in the competition when they clearly can't sing is not great for the other contestants who can, the publicity that follows the twins about is doing nothing but line Simon's pocket.

Hardly a day goes by when the twins are not on the front of a paper or magazine and there's a constant debate around preverbal water coolers as to wether they're a great act or a horrendous one.

We want to hear your views... what did you make of last night's decision?

Simon's not stupid! He saw there was an opportunity to increase the chances of one of his acts winning. It was 50:50 on losing rubbish 'Jedward' or eliminating one of the best competitors, Lucie, and the strongest opposition to his trio. He seized his opportunity to increase his chances of winning and played the tactical game. Shame on him for ending the hopes of possibly the best singer in the competition.

Oh dear! Is nothing else happening in the world, that all we talk about is Jedward? What a State we're in!

Simon is very clever, or is he? He was almost singing their praises after they performed on Saturday night. Reverse psychology! Unfortunately it backfired. Shame on you Simon!

I can,t believe they got kept in. They were pathetic last night!!!!!!!!!! I won,t be watching anymore cause they have obviously picked the winner already. I feel sorry for all those who vote and think their vote counts!!!!!!!!

Shocking Lucie should not have been put out. I won't be watching X-Factor ever again - it's just a farce and every judge should have to vote not allowed to go to deadlock!

Get rid of them they won't win. Simon was wrong to keep them in.

It's had the desired effect - everyone is talking about it, and it keeps X Factor on the front pages! Lucie wouldn't have won anyway - would have been different if it had been one of the really good acts, would have been funny to see Cheryl rather than Danni lose an act to them. She wouldn't have kept a dignified silence! The most unfair part was that Lloyd should have gone.

its all fixed anyway, this is some clever(probably owned by Simon) PR company's way of getting the general public to fund the lunch of their clients. All pre planned and arranged and most likely scripted to remeber Peter Kaye xxx

Of course it,s a fix, the whole show is. Simon- you have lost your credibility, soon be time for you to go. After all, you did promise to leave the country if they win!!

I feel it has nothing to do with the votes. They are been kept in to maintain the interst in the show. Without them there would not be the time spent on the tabloid pages and strictly come dancing would win the ratings war. Good luck to them i say. I certainly dont think people should be rude to the twins cos it aint their fault
