Gwyneth set up Jake and Taylor?

Showbiz-land truly is a small world isn't it? No sooner have we gotten over the surprise that oh so hunky Jake Gyllenhaal is dating tween country music star Taylor Swift than there is an even more random twist to the story.

It seems that this odd coupling is the result of some matchmaking - by none other than Gwyneth Paltrow.

Gwyneth is said to have decided that the pair would be perfect together and so set about trying to get them on a date! But when asked about it Gwyneth was a bit coy and said she was too "scared to say much" about the couple.

She did however say, "It's so weird. I wonder how people find out these things. It was a while ago, so I don't know why it would come out today. I've just known Jake for a long time and he's a great guy, and Chris has a friendship with Taylor."
