Jade the fighter

Jade Goody has had a turbulent life, but as she faces her biggest battle yet - cancer, she admits that she is scared but won't let go of her sense of humour.

The star who is suffering from cervical cancer has revealed that her hair has fallen out. But she is keeping her head held high and learning to laugh about the trial she is now facing - hair loss - joking that her young sons (pictured right) now call her 'Baldy'.

Jade spoke about her hair loss to a magazine this week saying, "I thought, 'Oh my God, it's falling out'. Then I put my hand through my hair and chunks and chunks of it just came away. I'm fighting for my femininity here. I don't want to sound trivial but I'm just 27 years old and even though I've got a disease that could kill me I still want to look pretty. I still need to feel like a woman. Is that so wrong? And I don't want my kids to be embarrassed by my baldness."

Jade has said that she has been given only a 40% chance of survival. Her battle is being filmed for a documentary set to air soon.

Watched Jade last night and her fight for health. This young mother's strength of character and her love for her sons is an example to us all. This documentary will hopefully support others in similar circumstances to find the strength to fight this disease. My thoughts and prayers to Jade and her family for a speedy recovery.
