Jade says she's going home to die

Since Jade Goody was first diagnosed with cervical cancer back in August 2008 everybody hoped for a speedy recovery, even after it was revealed that she only had a 40 per cent chance of survival.

But now Jade has admitted that the doctors say nothing more can be done for the 27-year-old. This comes after an operation to remove a tumour from her bowel.

Jade told a Sunday paper that she had been allowed to go home to die as there are no treatment options left. She said, “I want to ask God why he couldn’t have given me more time with my boys. Just a bit—just enough to hear them laugh a few more times, to see that they’re happy, to write them long letters so I can tell them who I was and how much I loved them and remind them about all the things we did together. Because they might forget me. And I can’t bear the thought of that. I’ve decided I’m going to make them a Memory Box and put in lots of things that will remind them of me and what we did together. And maybe when they’re older it will help them remember."

She is now in the process of planning a wedding to boyfriend Jack Tweed so she can experience her wedding day before she dies.

My heart goes out to you, your two boys, Jack and your family and friends, it's a hard time for all of you in different ways. I lost my grandparents, on my mums side, to Cancer, my Grandad to Asbestos Cancer from when he was in the planes during World War 2, I was 16 when he passed away on his 73 birthday and my gran to Colon Cancer, which seemed to be caught on time but spread to her brain which is when she passed away in 2005, she was 80. I feel though that they had the chance to live their lives quite fully, they were admired alot by all who knew them, but 27 doesn't seem fair to be the end. I'm 33 and don't feel ready to die yet, so I can only imagine what you must be going through. I'm still hopeful that somthing will change it all for you and that you get to live the life you are meant to. I believe in Cosmic Ordering, not sure if you've heard of it, maybe someone you know can look it up and explain it to you, but that is one thing I truely believe in, and it's worked so far for me, but only for small things so far. I'll keep thinking positive thoughts for you Jade, stay strong, as I know you can for your boys at least, which I know you will. Keep smiling as you have a beautiful smile. From a first time Mum to my beautiful daughter, Melissa, age 1 and a half years. xxx

Jade The thoughts and prayers of this whole nation are with you, I'm sure. You must muster the courage from somwhere to sit down and talk to your children and let them know what is happening. A memory box is a fantastic idea, but please be honest with them. It will help to soften the blow, when the inevitable happens. I lost my Mum when I was six and my Dad when I was 7. No-one told me and my Sister what was happening, and I remember feeling hurt and confused. Our families obviously thought they were protecting us, but we just felt shut out. Enjoy your wedding day and try to remain positive.
