Brits are a hit

Last night the prestigious Grammy nominations were announced and the Brits are leading the way in numerous categories.

Leona Lewis has already had an unbelievable year and her success looks set to continue in 2009 as she has been nominated for three Grammys, including: Best Pop Vocal Album for her debut, Spirit and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Record of the Year for Bleeding Love.

She is joined by another British female vocalists. Adele scored Four nominations! These included: Best New Artist, as well as Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Chasing Pavements.

And there were a whole host of other British acts who are in the running for what's considered the most important award in music. Coldplay, Radiohead and Welsh songstress Duffy were also recognised for their musical contribution this year.
