Butler supposedly realised that he was relying heavily on prescription drugs, which he used for pain management, but decided to nip the problem in the bud before it got worse by going to the Betty Ford Center three weeks ago.

The star reportedly felt he needed prescription drugs because of pain he was suffering from over-training during the filming of ‘300’, and the problem intensified while filming ‘Of Men And Mavericks’, when Butler was badly hurt during a surfing accident.

According to sources, Butler allegedly also developed issues with cocaine. The actor is said to be leaving the centre later today.
