With the news that not only was she left out of the final three girls chosen by Cheryl Cole, but her right to stay in the UK was in jeopardy, there has been a public outcry, the likes of which we haven't witnessed for a while.
Reports state that Gamu and her family, originally from Zimbabwe and now living in Scotland, face imminent deportation.
There had been hopes that Cheryl would somehow save Gamu and her family by choosing her as the Girls' Group Wildcard contestant. But pictures have emerged of Cheryl visiting the home of another contestant, Treyc Cohen, leading people to speculate that she will be revealed as the Wildcard on Saturday.
So far Gamu's lawyers are saying they are going to fight hard to keep her and her mother and brother in the country. And hundreds of well wishers and fans have turned up outside Gamu's house to show their support and protest her deportation.
What do you think about all of this? Should Gamu be allowed to stay? Do you think she is receiving preferential treatment because she's now been on TV? Do you think Cheryl should have chosen her all along? Tell us your thoughts...
