Tied the knot!
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have confirmed that they tied the knot at their Los Angeles home on Saturday. In an intimate ceremony of only 19 guests, the happy couple, who have been dating since December 2004, exchanged handwritten vows. Their wedding comes just three months after the state of California ended a ban on same-sex marriage, but it doesn't necessarily mean plain sailing for the pair. Portia de Rossi is Australian and as Australian law does not recognise same-sex unions, the couple's status as a married couple will cease to exist as soon as they step foot in the country. It has brought renewed calls for authorities there to readdress existing laws. Thankfully, the couple have not let those thoughts blight their happiness. Speaking of Portia last year, Ellen said, "She's taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I've taught her. We've both changed and grown and we just feel like, "Oh okay, this is completion."
