Elin speaks out about betrayal

Tiger Woods' ex-wife Elin Nordegren has managed to keep a very dignified silence over the last nine months as more and more humiliating details emerged about her cheating husband's ways. But now that the divorce has been finalised she has decided to tell her story in what she calls her 'first and last interview.'

Elin spoke to People magazine in the US and explained that she never had any suspicions about her then husband's behaviour. She says, "I never suspected, not a one. For the last three-and-a-half years, when all this was going on, I was home a lot more with pregnancies, then the children and my school."

Elin also explains that she went through the gauntlet of emotions as the full extent of Tiger's indiscretions were made public. She says, "I felt stupid as more things were revealed. How could I not have known anything? The word 'betrayal' isn't strong enough. I felt like my whole world had fallen apart. I felt embarrassed for having been so deceived. I felt betrayed by many people around me. Initially, I thought we had a chance, and we tried really hard."

Elin was asked about the divorce settlement she received from Tiger, rumoured to be anything from $100 million to $500 million, but as ever, the classy lady would not go into details. However she did say, "Money doesn't make you happy. ... But I have to be honest: It is making some things easier. I have the opportunity to be with my children as much as I want."

Tiger commented on the interview saying that he wishes Elin all the best for the future.
