Take note designers of the world
Mad Men's Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan on the show, has captured the world's imagination as a gorgeously curvaceous woman who stands out a mile amongst the Hollywood twiglets.
But even though she has become an icon to many curvy ladies and a lust object for most men on the planet, she still struggles to find clothes to fit her size 14 figure.
Even more outrageous, for someone who walks many a red carpet and is photographed dozens of times a week, none of the big designers will give her dresses for these media events.
Christina recently said, "Not one designer will loan me a dress. They only lend out a size zero or a size 2. So I'm still struggling for someone to give me a darn dress!"
Christina's stylist has spoken about the situation, saying "She's a woman, she's got a woman's body. But most actors these days, there's nothing to them - they're a clothes hanger."
The fact that Christina is considered too curvy for the designers to make her dresses has brought the age old weight debate to the forefront once again.
With size 14-16 being the most common size for women in Britain - why are there very few beautiful dresses available?
What do you think? Is Christina your body icon? And do you think the fashion designers should take note of her beauty and open up their designs to fit different body shapes? |
