Courtney opens up about split

Up until now Courtney Cox has very much kept a dignified silence over her split from husband of 12 years David Arquette, which is pretty admirable when you consider the amount of cheek flapping he did. He divulged all kinds of secrets in various radio phone in's, including details about the last time the couple slept together (four months prior to their split) and about his two-night stand with an LA waitress and how it 'finally made him feel like a man'.

All through that humiliation Courtney kept her head down and got on with work, filming her hit TV show Cougar Town.

But now, in a recent interview she is opening up a little bit about how she feels. When asked about how she felt when David called the radio stations she said, "You can’t really get mad at David because he’s not a malicious person. He was dealing with things the best way he could. And don’t get me wrong, he was on a show for entertainment. David is smart, and David is also a showman. He knew what he was doing."

And in an attempt to explain what may have gone wrong in the marriage Courtney said, "The thing is, when you get older, it’s more about compatibility than it is about love. I think it’s more about needing just a kind of peace and stillness. I’m kind of all over the place, and I need grounding. I want to be calm. I want to change a lot. I want to live not outside but inside."

David went to rehab shortly after the break up and he has continued to act a little erratically to say the least, so we can imagine that he didn't provide the kind of calm Courtney was desperately looking for.
