Death of an 80s teen icon

The latest name to be added to the long and sad list of celebrities dying from drugs overdoses is 80s star Corey Haim.

The 38-year-old actor was staying with his mother (pictured right) to help care for her as she battled cancer.

Corey had in the past enjoyed a brief fling with none other than Victoria Beckham before she met David, and she is said to be in shock over his death.

Although the police are treating his death as non-suspicious and a likely case of an accidental drugs overdoes, his agent is adamant drugs were not the cause.

The agent says: "He seemed very coherent and normal [on Tuesday]. He did to both his mother and his doctor as well. The doctor just thought he had a cold or bug or flu. His temperature was 99 degrees and it jumped up to 101. We had his doctor come over and take his temperature. She said he actually looked very good. At one point he woke up his mom and said, 'Mom, can you please come and lie next to me, I'm not feeling very good.'"

He continued,"He woke up again later and said he was having problems breathing. But it wasn't very severe problems breathing. She thought he was sick. From there they both fell asleep."

Sad. A post mortem has not yet been carried out to determine whether drugs were involved.
