Cheryl met up with Ashley?

It's been a trying few weeks, actually let's make that few months, for Cheryl, with numerous highs and lows. One minute she thinks her life is about to change if she is given the US Factor job, then that looks like it's not going to happen. Not to mention all the stuff she went through last year with her illness and the backlash during X Factor.

So perhaps it's not that surprising that she's seeking comfort in someone she loved before all of this X Factor stuff began.

Sources say that she and ex-husband Ashley met up recently. Although her spokespeople have denied it, it hasn't quashed the rumours that the pair have been getting on a lot better of late.

It apparently all started after she gave the Piers Morgan interview last year. Ashley is said to have been dreading it in case she panned him on TV and he would have to face another torrent of abuse in the newspapers. But instead Cheryl refused to badmouth him and just spoke of how much she had loved him and how he had been her best friend.

This is said to have led to Ashley reaching out to her again and the pair apparently met up after last week's National TV Awards.

Maybe she just wants to put everything behind her and finally have a go at being friends with Ashley? Or maybe she's been missing him all this time...?
