Cheryl stays away for two weeks

Although yesterday was meant to be the most romantic day of the year, one couple were apart - Cheryl and Ashley Cole.

We knew there would have to be some kind of fall out after it emerged that a topless model ended up receiving pictures of a naked Ashley from an unregistered pay as you go mobile phone. (Why does a guy who earns £82,000 a week have an unregistered mobile phone with naked pictures of himself on it?)

Of course Ashley had quite a convincing story ready - he'd given the phone to a friend who'd passed it on to another friend and it was he who sent the pics.

But Cheryl is said to be royally fed up of all this immature behaviour.

And now more info is emerging. Reports state that although Ashley admits having the phone last June 2009 when the naked pictures of himself were taken, he says he gave the phone away shortly thereafter and it was then that the texts were sent.

However, apparently the first saucy texts to the topless model were sent in October 2008 and were fairly constant up until October 2009.

How is he going to explain that one?

Sources say Cheryl has been living in a hotel in London away from the couple's Surrey mansion. Partly to rehearse for her upcoming Brits performance but mostly just to get some space away from her hubby.

They didn't spend Valentine's together and relations are said to be frosty between the pair.
