CZJ treated for bipolar disorder

It has been revealed that Catherine Zeta Jones recently stayed at a psychiatric hospital to receive treatment for bipolar disorder. It's thought that she has been struggling to cope over the last year as she dealt with the stress of her husband Michael Douglas' diagnosis with throat cancer and resulting exhausting battle with the disease.

Her spokesperson yesterday released a statement saying, "After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check into a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder. She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on two upcoming films."

Michael said earlier this year that he has been told by doctors, after undergoing radiation and chemotherap, that he was free from cancer. And although overjoyed by the diagnosis, sources close to Catherine say that the stress and worry had gone on too long and she was crumbling under the weight of it.

We sincerely hope she continues to get better.
