Tragedy for Amanda Holden

The sad news was announced this weekend passed that Amanda Holden has lost her child seven months into her pregnancy. As is to be expected Amanda is said to be devastated, especially after having suffered from a miscarriage last year.

At this stage it's unclear what caused the tragedy as those close to Amanda say the baby had been in perfect health.

A friend explains what first made Amanda want to check that everything was ok with her baby, "Amanda was filming the BGT auditions in Birmingham the day before and just said she was popping to the hospital for reassurance as she had not felt the baby kick. Up until then, he had been really active and she kept saying that he was a real squirmer. The next thing we knew, Chris rang up to say what had happened."

News has emerged that Amanda's husband Chris has taken her to a secluded location so that she can grieve in private. She's said to be utterly devastated, especially given the fact that she held off announcing her pregnancy until the sixth month as she had been so heartbroken when she had suffered an earlier miscarriage. At the time Amanada said, "I have such a charmed and lovely life and I just never imagined I would miscarry a baby. Never. You never think it might happen to you."

The close friend of Amanda and Chris explained how the star is feeling now, "At the moment, Amanda is just unable to function, I don’t think it’s even begun to properly sink in yet. She will never be the same person after this. The baby was physically perfect, just beautiful. Amanda had regular scans all the way along her pregnancy, and they showed that everything was fine. There was absolutely no warning."
