Westlife's Shocking Split!

It’s the news loyal Westlife fans have been dreading to hear, but last night the Irish boy band announced the sad news that they have decided to split.

After recently revealing that they were simply planning to ‘take a break’ the group have now confirmed that they will in fact be breaking up – but only once they've released a greatest hits collection and performing a final farewell tour.

The Irish hunks formed 14 years ago and have had an astounding 14 number one singles. But now it’s the end of the road for the group who have sold out tours around the world.

The boys have said that there are no hard feelings and that they will all remain firm friends. Now devastated fans will get to say their goodbyes in May 2012 when they tour.

But is this really the end of the road? Or, like so many bands these days, will they have reunion tour in just a few years time?
