Tragedy for The X Factor

X Factor contestant and pop star in the making Janet Devlin will perform live on this Saturday’s episode of the show – despite the fact that she will be missing her own grandfather’s funeral.

The 16-year-old singer from Northern Ireland found out the devastating news that her grandfather had died earlier this week and was comforted by fellow contestants.

But despite how saddened she is, Janet and her family have said that they know her granddad would want her to take to the stage on Saturday night and give it her all. However, it’s bound to be an emotional show for Janet as her song for this week is all about heartbreak, making the performance even more emotional.

So is the old saying true that ‘the show must go on’? Or should Janet have stuck by her family during such an emotional time?
