One friend of Katie's told a Sunday paper that "Katie's hit rock bottom. She doesn't know what to do with herself. Her behaviour is all over the place. She's been sobbing, trying to call Peter and attacking anyone she can. Her friends are worried she's drinking too much."

However the friend reported "I have never seen her so determined. She likes a fight and she wants to beat him."

She told another friend "Peter's desperate. He's trying to kick me where it hurts - my wallet. But I'm not going to let him destroy me."
